Carolyn Delores Hunter, age 76 of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, she was born on December 31, 1946 in Sewanee to the late John and Lacy Bell (Gray) Childress Sr. Carolyn was a graduate of Townsend High School, Class of 1965, and earned her Bachelors Degree from Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina. Before her retirement, she was employed as an agent with the Local Teamsters Union 480. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and spending time visiting with her beloved family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hunter; and several aunts and uncles. Carolyn is survived by her loving daughter, Sonya Robinson; grandchildren, Corey Turner, Cortez (Demi) Turner, and Cameron Robinson; great-grandson, Kyrie Turner; siblings, Harry (Tanya) Robinson, and John Childress Jr; nephews, Harry Robinson Jr, and Eric (Chaton) Robinson; niece, Amber Robinson; aunt, Mary Lou Hill; best friend and cousin, Rita (Robert) Bean; special cousin, Charles Burnette; and special friend, Pam Harding. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:00pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
