Funeral service for Carolyn Ann (Davis) Howard, age 67, of Priceville, will be Friday, September 12, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Smith and Rev. Gary Dobbs officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 11, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Howard, who died Monday, September 8, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born March 25, 1947, in Morgan County, to J. C. Davis and Mildred Rowe Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne “Buffalo” Howard, and her father. Mrs. Howard graduated from Priceville High School in 1965, and was a bookkeeper and a homemaker. She was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church, where she served as Assistant Treasurer.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred “Peggy” Rowe Davis of Brooksville; two sisters, Rita Herchenhahn (Teddy) of Decatur, and Sherry McGuire (Randall) of Ethridge, TN; one brother, Scottie Davis of Brooksville; and several nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Freda Terry, Brenda Payne, Gennette Hancock, Frances McCarrick, Ruby Holoway, Joe McCarrick, Jim Wood, Mary Wood, and Members of Oak Forest Baptist Church.
