Carole Grote, 82, of Huntsville, passed away on Wednesday. Born in Birmingham, she spent most of her life as part of the Elon and Roberta Balch family of Harvest. Mrs. Grote was employed as a Registered Nurse at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga and Centilena Hospital in Los Angeles, before returning to Huntsville where she worked and retired from Huntsville Hospital.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dr. Carl A. Grote, Jr.; son, Charles D. Grote; and stepchildren, Mary Eleanor McKenzie, Carl A. Grote III, and Jane Elizabeth Hipp.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at the church with Dr. Charles Gattis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Huntsville Hospital Foundation.
