Carole Gore Nichols, 70, of Southside, AL passed away March 19, 2021. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Drummons officiating. There will be a private family committal service at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services. Mrs. Nichols was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a graduate of Gadsden High School, Jacksonville State University and earned her Masters Degree from the University of Alabama. She was a teacher and had taught in the Etowah County School System for 28 years, primarily at Hokes Bluff Elementary and Middle Schools. Mrs. Nichols was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church. Her parents preceded her in death, S.R. “Bob” Gore and Selena Martin Gore. Survivors include her husband Robert Nichols; children Jake and Jessica Nichols; sister Linda Gore McLendon; nephew Dueff (Rhonda) Smith; nieces Melissa Smith and Meredith Smith, and many loved extended family members. Pallbearers will be Dueff Smith, Jamie Gore, Jim Nix, Joe Nix, Larry Gore, and Tristan Smith. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice, 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951 or The American Heart Association, P. O Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692 in Mrs. Nichols memory. The family will receive friends from 11 am until the hour of service at the funeral home.
