Carol Sue Brown Carol Sue Brown passed away at her home in Huntsville on January 21, 2025 surrounded by family.

She is survived by three siblings, Dave Brown of Garden Grove, CA, Steve Brown of Atlanta, GA, and Katharine Barnhart of Huntsville, AL.

Carol grew up in St. Louis, and was a lifelong avid Cardinals fan.  Her career took her from St. Louis, to Chicago, to Orlando, to Huntsville, Alabama.  As a biologist, she was part of a team of researchers working on a cure for muscular dystrophy at Washington University in St. Louis. Upon moving to Orlando, she moved into a career as technical writer with Martin Marrietta, and then expanded into coordinating all aspects of integrating engineering and marketing into written proposals to the Department of Defense.

Her work on supporting the patriot missile project was a particular source of pride for her, and she received a special commendation of excellence in recognition of setting an example of high standards and an outstanding work ethic.

After moving to Huntsville, she brought her proposals experience to Madison Research, until she retired in 2011.
