Carol Lynn Gargis Parton – Obituary

Carol Lynn Gargis Parton, 50, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died Friday, September 5, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Carol was born in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, on October 3, 1963. She is survived by her husband, Anthony L. Parton, of Little Rock, who cared for her with love and devotion. 
Carol was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Andrew and Maxine Cox, of Sheffield, Alabama, and paternal grandparents, Theo and Linda Gargis, of Muscle Shoals.
She is survived by her mother, Lynn Gargis, of Royal, Arkansas, and her father, Douglas Gargis, of Muscle Shoals; step-daughters, Lauren Parton, of Texas, and Amanda Parton, of Missouri. 
Also surviving are her brothers: Michael (Shanna) Gargis, of Texas, daughter, Mika-Lyn, sons, Michael Jr. and Chandler, and Steven Gargis and son, Cody, of Arkansas.
Carol graduated from Muscle Shoals High School in 1982, and received a degree in Health and Information Technology from Garland County (Arkansas) Community College, where she was a member of the PHI THETA KAPPA honor society. She was a medical coder for Altegra Health.
Carol was a loving and caring woman who firmly supported out Troops and their families, and Alabama Football. She walked numerous times in the 

Relay For Life

in support of breast cancer research. And she made many friends while supporting the West Memphis 3.
Carol was beloved by her family and she loved her family, her “fur babies,” and the beach at Gulf Shores, Alabama, her Blankie (Love Ya Kia) and life.
Carol was of the Baptist faith. A private service will be held at a later date in Sheffield, Alabama. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300.
In lieu of flowers, Carol wished for any donations in her name to be made to 

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

in Memphis. “Roll Tide Roll.”
