Carol Jean Wilson, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 10th, 2018 at home after a short battle with cancer.

Carol was born on May 7th, 1944 in Santa Barbara, CA to Reed and Louise Crandall. Due to her father’s military service and later crop dusting occupation, she moved frequently in her early life. At a young age both adventure and nature captured her imagination. She learned to fly when she was only seven years old. She felt most at home in the mountains and her love of photography lasted a lifetime. She was also a great lover of animals.

From her first marriage, she was blessed with a daughter, Denise (1961) and a son, Troyce (1963). In 1965, she met and married the love of her life, Richard Allen Wilson. From their marriage a daughter, Cassandra (1966) and a son, Reed (1969), were born. Despite their own adventures that took them around the country, they came to reside in the small town of Salmon, Idaho and made their home. After the untimely passing of her husband in 1993, Carol resided in Rock Springs, WY, Mesa, AZ and Cullman, AL.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stella and Tony; her parents, Reed and Louise; her husband, Richard Allen; her grandson, Levi Michael; and her daughter, Denise Renee.

She is survived by her son Troyce “Troy” Douglas of Danville, AL; her daughter Cassandra “Cassie” (Jerry) Barrett of Rigby, ID; and son Reed (Greta) Wilson of Virginia Beach, WV. She is also survived by six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

As per her final preparations, there will be no memorial or viewing. Instead she will be peacefully cremated and her ashes distributed according to her wishes.

“There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray. There’ll be no sadness, no sorrow, no trouble, trouble I see. There will be peace in the valley for me.”
