Carol Jane Satterwhite – Obituary

Carol Jane Satterwhite, 70, resident of the Campbellsville Pike, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Morning Pointe.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Paul W. Bauer and Reverend Steve Thomas officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home and Friday from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the church.

Born April 19, 1947 in Columbia, Tennessee, CJ was the daughter of the late Jane Sheegog Satterwhite and the late John W Satterwhite, Sr. She was a 1965 graduate of Columbia Central High School and was a Columbia Military Academy cheerleader. After attending George Peabody College, she moved to New York City as a stewardess for Trans World Airlines. She then held positions at Town and Country magazine and United Artist Film Studio before landing her dream job as a researcher and reporter at the New York Times. Retiring in 2007 to the family farm in Columbia, CJ enjoyed gardening, reading and time with her pets. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, James K Polk Association and Cosmopolitan Book Club. After becoming a Master Gardener, she joined the Volunteer Garden Club and the Columbia Garden Club.

CJ is survived by her brother John W. (Argie) Satterwhite, Jr.; nephew, Will Satterwhite; nieces, Katie Satterwhite (Justin Odom), Laura (Kenneth) Hughes; and great nephew, Oaklee Odom.
