Graveside services for Carol Horton Green will be held at 4:00 PM Monday at Ebenezer Cemetery with Bro Joe Spencer officiating the service. Carol passes away peacefully July 23, 2021, after a very brief illness. Carol was born in Alcorn County on January 20, 1947, to the late Thomas Reese Horton and Nila Faye (Bell) Horton. She was a member of First Methodist Church in Corinth, MS. Carol lived the first part of her life in Memphis, TN where she graduated from Frayser High School. She worked at Sears and Methodist Hospital in Memphis before returning to Alcorn County where she worked for almost 20 years as the Comptroller for Alcorn County. It was while working at Alcorn County that she met the love of her life, her husband, Johnny Green. Carol was a kind, patient, compassionate, loving person. She had such a sweet spirit and was always giving of herself to others, but never expecting anything in return. You could always depend on Carol to be there in your time of need, but never wanting to impose on anyone. Choosing instead, to be a silent prayer warrior for her family, friends, and anyone in need. Carol is survived by her caring stepson, Dow Green, ( Ginger) and her two precious granddaughters, Maggie and Brantley Green. Carol was always telling her friends about her granddaughters accomplishing and how proud she was of Dow and his family. She is also survived by special friends, Betty Spencer, Judy Hines , and several cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, her parents, Thomas And Nila Faye (Bell) Horton. Several aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives. Carol would not want us to grieve for her, but to rejoice in her home going. She would want us to remember the happy, fun times we shared with her and to look forward to seeing her again one day.
