Carol Ann Beckett Profile Photo Carol Ann Beckett, formerly of Wilmington, DE and Zephyrhills, FL passed away Feb. 19, 2024 in Franklin, TN. She was 89 years old.

Mrs. Beckett, the daughter of the late Randall “Baa” McIntee and Evelyn McKay McIntee was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada. After graduating, she worked briefly as a teacher in a one room school house before marrying the love of her life the late Gilbert P, Beckett Sr. They were married for 46 years and raised two children Gilbert and Laura in Wilmington, DE. Upon retirement they moved to Zephyrhills, FL, and split their time between Florida and Oak Bay, New Brunswick.

Carol was an active member of the Episcopal Church in every town she lived. Mrs. Beckett was kind and loving beyond measure. Hers was a life well lived, filled with family she loved deeply and friends she cherished. She was always ready to jump in the car and go on an adventure, be it roughing it in the Maine woods, or trips farther afield. She loved her morning coffee with a chocolate donut and when asked, what are you making for dinner? She would jokingly reply Reservations. Carol spread kindness wherever she went and has left a legacy of love that will continue to grow.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother William “Bill” McIntee.

She is survived by her siblings Randall MacIntee and family, Greg McIntee and Mary Ellen Fitch and family all of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, by her son Gilbert P. Beckett Jr. and wife Lisa, of Newark Delaware, by her daughter Laura Harvanek and husband David, of Franklin TN., by grandchildren Kristy Kent and husband Alex, Brandon Kent, Cecilia Harvanek and Thomas Harvanek, and great-grandchildren Calie, Rue and Beckett, by her family of the heart Mark and Janet Coleman and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer with interment at the Calais Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in her memory to your favourite charity or to St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, Zephyrhills Florida.
