Carlton Edward Poole, Sr., born July 17, 2931, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, Carlton made his home in Madison County, Alabama, where he resided for 70 years and built a life centered on faith, family, and service. He proudly retired from the U.S. Department of Defense after a dedicated career as an Instrumentation Technician, a role that reflected his intelligence, precision, and strong work ethic.
Carlton had a deep love of politics and never shied away from spirited discussions about current events. He was a devoted and enthusiastic Alabama football fan who cheered faithfully through every season. In quieter moments, he could often be found enjoying his favorite western movies, appreciating their timeless stories of grit and honor.
Above all, Carlton cherished his family. He is survived by his son, Carlton Edward Poole, Jr.; daughter, Carol Poole Ramsey; grandson, Tye Wayne Ramsey; brother, Clifton Poole; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews who will continue to carry forward his memory.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Angl F. Poole; son, Randall Guy Poole; parents, Homer and Mildred Poole; and brothers, Charles Poole and Deewayne Poole.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Berryhill Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama.
Carlton will be remembered for his steadfast dedication, strong opinions, loyalty to those he loved, and the lasting impact he had on everyone who knew him.
