Carlos Wayne Armistead – Obituary

Carlos Wayne Armistead, age 69, of Sheffield, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.

Visitation will be today, 6-8 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Troy Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Armistead was a Colbert County native, was retired from Flexco, and a member of Hook Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Coles Armistead and Emma Lee Meadows Armistead, and brother, Dudley Armistead.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette Bowling Armistead, of Sheffield; daughters, Alicia Armistead Evans, of Sheffield, and Angie Armistead Pigg (Ronald), of Muscle Shoals; son, Brian Armistead, of Sheffield; grandchildren, Amber Evans Jackson (Daniel), of Tampa, Florida, Austin Evans, of Sheffield, Ryan Pigg, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jacob Pigg, of Sheffield; great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Nathen Blake Rhodes and Caymen Layne Rhodes, of Tampa, Florida.

Pallbearers are Ken Bowling, Jacob Pigg, Russ McBride, and Brandon Brown.

Honorary pallbearers are Austin Evans, Nathen Rhodes, and Caymen Rhodes.

The family expresses special thanks to Keller Hospice and Dr. Lynn Ridgeway.
