Carlos Troy Hill, age 73, of Nauvoo, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Carlos worked for Meadow Gold Milk Company in the 1970’s and was known as the “The Milkman”. He and his wife Loretta, opened Hill Carpet Service, and he was then known as “The Carpet Man”. He was a Gideon, a deacon, a youth director and a RA leader for many years. But he was best known as a loving husband, father, papaw and a great friend to the many that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his Loving wife and soulmate-Mrs. Loretta Hill; Father-Robert Hill; Mother-Delma McCullar; Brothers-Donald Hill (Aiko) and Bud Hill (Linda); Brother-in-law-Freeman Williamson; his beautiful granddaughter-Ashley Paige Skinner.
He is survived by his Daughter and Son-Carla and Randy Skinner; Granddaughter-Magen Self (Jordan); Great Granddaughter-Molly Kate Self; Granddaughter-Camille Posey (Chris), Jaxon and Emma Posey; Son-Jeff Thomas; Brother-Bob Hill (Joan) of Cantonment, FL; Sisters-Jeanette Williamson-Garner of North Carolina and Wanda Warnick (David) of Oneonta, AL; Several nieces and nephews; Extended family-Barbara and Jennifer Skinner, James, Lori, Joseph, Jacob and Josh Kilgore; Special friends at KFC in Jasper.
Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, Februay 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Liberty Grove Baptist Church. Bro. Hancel Cox will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Thomas, Mike Kirkland, Tim Kirkland, Scott Kirkland, Ricky Butler, Ed Yates and Wade Yates.
The family would like to thank Dr. Eugene Tai, and his staff, also Comfort Care Hospice for their kindness, compassion and support.
