Carlos A. Gregg, age 83, of Sheffield, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1957, he began a career he loved in mechanical engineering with Reynolds Metals Company. He later worked with Tri-Cities Construction and Johnson Contractors before forming Gregg, Bland, and Berry. He loved God, his family, and his fellow man. Mr. Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Pauline Gregg; his brothers, Bill and Jerry Gregg; and his son-in-law, Ron Garikes.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Katie Gregg; daughters, Carla Garikes and Susan Dunmire (Dan); and five grandchildren, Kathryn Garikes, Laura Riley (Andrew), Daniel Dunmire, Margaret Dunmire, and Gregg Dunmire.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Thursday, 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, Sheffield with Reverend Randy Burbank officiating. Interment and graveside service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Moore Cemetery, McCalla, Alabama.
