Carline Ellett Kessel passed away on September 27, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born August 13, 1938, in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama, Carline was the daughter of Alvie and Pauline Ellett. She lived each day in honor of Jesus Christ and was a beloved member of the Twickenham Church of Christ community.
Carline loved spending time with her family. Whether they were traveling together or enjoying an ordinary day at home, her greatest joy was simply being with them. She cherished her family and the Huntsville community she called home.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Warren Kessel; her parents, Alvie and Pauline Ellett; and her brother, Alvie “Boots” Ellett.
Carline is survived by her daughters, Paula Kessel Heggem (David) and Karen Kessel Pearce (David); her grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Gaines (Levi), Sarah Elizabeth Oms (John Harrison), and Phillip Pearce (Caroline); her great-grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Gaines, Mackenzie Dyer Gaines, and Jay Douglas Pearce; her sister, June Montgomery; sister-in-law, Joyce Ellet; and many family members.
Her family is grateful for the incredible support of the Huntsville community and their church family at Twickenham Church of Christ. They are especially thankful for the loving care Carline received from the team at the Huntsville Hospice Care facility.
Visitation with Carline’s family will be held on September 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Twickenham Church of Christ, located at 7500 Whitesburg Drive SW, Huntsville, AL 35802.
Pallbearers will be David Heggem Jr., David Pearce, Phillip Pearce, Alvie “Boots” Ellett Jr., Chris Miller, and Michael Atnip. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvie “Boots 3” Ellett III, Jay Douglas Pearce, Rusty Miller, John Harrison Oms, Levi Gaines and the devoted caregivers at Huntsville Hospital and Huntsville Hospice Family Care.
