Carlene Wooden, 82, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Mrs. Wooden and her husband, Gene, came to Huntsville in 1957, and made a good life. She shared her love and joy of life with everyone she met, and was a stranger to no one for very long. She will be missed and will always be loved. Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Charles J. and Mrs. Ethel Hawkins, brother, James W. Hawkins, and daughter, Angela Etheridge.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gene E. Wooden; children, Gene Wooden, Jr. (Denise), and Valerie Wooden; grandchildren, Keith, Kyle, and Kendal Wooden and Alex Etheridge.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 in the chapel with Dr. Rick Owen officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
