Funeral service for Carl Willard Norton, age 85, of Decatur, will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Courtland City Cemetery.
Mr. Norton, who died Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born August 17, 1940, in Alabama to Coburn Michael Norton and Eva Bynum Terry Norton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joyce, and his parents.
He is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Sams and Tracie Netherton (Harvey); sister, Dean Marlar; four grandchildren, Blaire Mason (Drake), Samantha Clines (Cody), Cole Netherton (Molly), and Kacie Leddingham (Griffin); and 11 great-grandchildren, Drayden Mason, Nash Mason, Karley Mason, Willa-Raye Mason, Sunnie Mason, Lydia Blaire Clines, Kolbi Clines, Blakely Clines, Stevie Jo Netherton, Lillie Mae Netherton, and Ellie Grace Netherton.
Pallbearers will be Cole Netherton, Kevin Tolbert, Nash Mason, Jarrod Brewer, Jeremy Stewart, and Jeremy Speegle. Honorary pallbearers will be Drayden Mason and Larry Self.
