Carl Randall Williamson – Obituary

Carl Randall Williamson, 68, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Life Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

 

He was born November 18, 1949 to Rufus and Allena Williamson. On December 9, 1972, he married Anna Billingsley with whom he had two children, Rebecca and Andrew Williamson. On September 20, 2003, he married Janell Burger in Columbia, TN and gained two step-children, Heidi Lovett and Randy Burger. Randy was a loving Christian father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all.

 

Randy received his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1972. In 2004, he received his Master’s degree in Manufacturing and Management at Kettering University. He was an electrical engineer for General Motors for over 25 years and took an early retirement due to his illness. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, golfing, fishing and playing sports. He also loved to play his guitar and sing in the choir at church praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He especially loved spending time with his family. He always said his greatest accomplishment in life was his 2 children whom he loved very much.

 

Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Janell Williamson; his two children, Rebecca (Chris) Harrison and Andrew (Angie) Williamson; two step-children, Heidi Lovett and Randy Burger; two granddaughters, AnnaClaire and Caroline Harrison; two grandsons, Nehemiah and Jonah Williamson; two step-granddaughters Alyssa Jackson and Alaina Lovett; his mother, Allena Williamson; one brother, John Williamson; one sister, Karen (Bernie) Sams; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his brother; his grandparents; and two grandsons.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5-8pm and Friday April 6, 2018 from 10-11am at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN. Following visitation will be a celebration of life service on Friday, April 6th at 11:00am with Bob Vassar and Mike Dawson officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at Bowling Green Gardens located at 820 Lovers Lane in Bowling Green, KY at 5:00pm. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial donations can be made to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
