Carl Martin Black, age 50, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 10am at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Robin Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, November 19th from 4-8pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Carl was born December 16, 1968 in Murfreesboro and was the son of the late Carl David Black and Beverly Johns Black. He graduated from Oakland High School and worked for Krogers. He enjoyed playing the guitar and cooking. One of his favorite hobbies was golfing, which he liked playing in tournaments. He loved Tennessee football and his favorite time of the year was Christmas.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his loving wife: Jennifer Ann Costa Black of Columbia; children: Natasha Hopper and fiancé Jaremy Lancaster, Tiffany (Dustin) McDonald, and Darian Black, all of Columbia; sister: Amanda McCullough of Murfreesboro; grandchildren: Steven Hopper, Aerial Hopper, Wyatt Lancaster, and Libbee McDonald; and a grandchild on the way.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Costa, Corey Costa, David Burns, Aaron Moore, Tyler Reynolds, and Blackie Burnett. Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of Krogers.
