Carl Gilbert, age 81, Russellville, AL passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014.
The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014 at Akins Funeral Home. The 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held at Roxy Theater on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 with Bro. Bobby Bolton, Bro. Charlie Britnell, and Bro. Lonnie Oldag officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Gilbert; son, DeWayne Gilbert; parents, Ernest and Ruth Gilbert; siblings, Earline Pennington, Edna Tyler, Era McPherson, Elsie Pennington, EC Gilbert Jr., JW Gilbert, Kenneth Gilbert , Gail Hamann.
He is survived by his children, Shelia Pierce and Carl, DeWyatt Gilbert and Karen, Kerry Gilbert; sister, Sandra Pace; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; host of nieces and nephews.
