Carl Gene Gooch, 72, of Middleton

Mr. Gooch passed away at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital on Monday, May 14, 2018. Arrangements are presently incomplete.

He was born in Memphis, but lived most all of his life in Hardeman County and was the son of the late Joe Enoch and Annie Sisco Gooch.

On August 13, 1966, he was united in marriage to the former Shirley Kirby, who survives. He had worked at Grisham’s Stave Mill in Medon as a fork lift driver and also at Delta Tool Box in Jonesboro, AR and Jones Manufacturing in Humboldt, TN. He was a member of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church near Rogers Springs and in his leisure time enjoyed hunting (in his younger years), fishing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter, Lisa Vaughn of Bolivar; a brother, Jerry Wayne Gooch of Ripley, MS; four grandchildren, Lydia, Jacob, Dustin and Aaron Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews, Joe Wayne Gooch, Peggy, Frankie (and wife, Charlcy), Randall (and wife, Faye), Shawn, Josh, Amber, Tyler, Zack and Mitchell Kirby, Abby and Christy Owen.
