Carl Edward Nix, age 93, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Thursday, May 04, 2023, at Burns Nursing Home.
Carl proudly served his nation in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Reynolds Aluminum for many years until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman, Atlanta Braves fan, and Alabama Football fan. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Carl loved having his garden and even assisted in the planting process.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, James Nix (Tammy), Felix Nix (Donna), Victor Nix, Phyllis Nix Lackey; grandchildren, Shosana Davis (Rob), Christopher Nix, Whitney Hutcheson (Burt), Hannah Oliver (Chase), Austin Nix (Alyssa), Brett Nix (Nicole), Drew Nix (Maria), Jason Ayers; great-grandchildren, Emma, Easton, Raylee, Nix, TJ, Abby, Isaac, Callista, Lucas; brother, Billy Nix; and a host of nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death his wife of 66 years, Willodean Rice Nix; son, Danny Ford Nix; grandchildren, Landon Nix, Daniel Lackey, Patricia Lackey; parents, George & Flossie (Senkbeil) Nix; brothers, O.V. Nix, Freddy Nix, Roy Nix, Jack Nix; sisters, Doris Mayfield and Ruby Hester.
The visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 08, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.
