Carl Douglas “Doug” Rice, 83 of the Kilgore community, passed away June 29, 2026, at his residence.
He is the husband of Diane Rice. Doug is also survived by his sons Keith (Jennifer) Rice, Ronnie (Sonja) Rice, daughter Stephanie Rice Tuggle, six grandchildren, Tiffany (Jamey) Carter, Logan (Maryssa) Rice, Ashley (Michael) Herring, Jacoby Rice, Allyson (Patrick) Shelton, Devan (Jason) Parrish, along with seven great grandchildren and many assorted, adopted great grandchildren.
Doug was a big Alabama football fan, loved going fishing on Saturday mornings, and especially traveling with Diane. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Thursday, July 2, in Shanghi Cemetery. The family will receive friends at New Horizon Funeral Home Thursday, from 11am until 12:30pm.
