Carl Donald Reed was born on December 25, 1932, in Madison County. He attended Madison County High School before joining the Navy USS CLAA 119 from 1952-1956. After his Navy service, Carl graduated from Huntsville High School.
Carl had a successful building contractor career before retiring ten years ago. He owned Reed Homes, Inc. founded in 1972, where he built hundreds of homes for the North Alabama community.
He was a member of the Maysville Church of Christ, the church his family attended for over 50 years.
Carl was well respected in the community and generous in spirit and love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Cooper Reed and George Douglas Reed, six brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Parton Reed; daughter, Tammy Reed Eskridge; his grandson, Thomas Chandler Eskridge, Jr.; and granddaughter, Virginia Reed Eskridge.
Carl passed away on March 6, 2023.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Berryhill Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Services will follow with Tim Orbison officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Cemetery.
