Carl C. SaintCarl Couch Saint of Arab passed peacefully on September 12, 2026 at the age of 81 years.

Carl was raised in the Greenbriar Cove community and attended Arab High School. He was a Contractor and worked most of his life in the building and remodeling business. Carl was a man of varied interest but he found joy as an avid collector of antiques and never passed a chance to barter or trade. He had a lifelong commitment to his faith and savored telling stories from the Bible. Carl and Peggy were married just shy of 50 years.

Carl is survived by his wife, Peggy Brooks Saint; daughter, Carla Saint Scrimpshire (David); son, Phillip Brooks Hughes; sister, Margarette Saint; Grandchildren, Stephanie Garza-Webb, Jeremy Garza, and Anthony Hughes; four great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Carl is preceded in death by his son, Zachary Saint; parents, Hubert and Gladys Couch Saint; sister, Nina Jo Prince and his brothers, Buddy Saint, Douglas Saint, Larry Saint and Harry Saint.

The service to honor Carl’s life will be held graveside on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Brashier’s Chapel Cemetery in Arab, Alabama. Randy Blakely and Michael Prince will officiate.

Pallbearers escorting Carl to his final resting will be Jason Saint, Richard Caldwell, David Stancil, Bo Coker, Jackie Collins, Byron Hott with Anthony Hughes, Richard DuVaney, Mike Brown, and Keith Kelsoe serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

A special appreciation to those who walked along side during Carl’s illness: his nieces and nephews, neighbors, special friends, Centerwell Health and Shepherds Cove Hospice of Marshall County.
In lieu of flowers: The family welcomes donations to The Shriners or to Shepherds Cove Hospice of Marshall County.
