Carl Barry O'Cain Mr. Carl Barry O’Cain, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, departed from this life on Friday, July 30, 2021, in the company of his adoring family.

Born the son of the late John Ennis, Sr., and Leila (McFadden) O’Cain, on Monday, April 29, 1940. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Sean B. O’Cain and two brothers, John E. O’Cain and Paul D. O’Cain.

Carl was a graduate of Bowman High School. He graduated “The Citadel” Military College of Charleston, SC with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a motivated learner who sought out different learning experiences that added to his already colorful life’s journey. Carl was a decorated servant of the United States Air Force during the Cuban Crisis. He was an Engineer at NASA, Florida Operations- Space Division and the Apollo/Saturn Program. Also, during his adult career, Carl was the Manager of Tinker Home Center in Parsons, TN, a housing contractor, and Real Estate Property Appraiser. His most beloved of these, and his legacy to be remembered, was his founding of Century Farm Vineyard and Winery in Jackson, TN. A very passionate man with a great love for many things, Carl was a 20-year member of the Adult Sunday School Class in Parsons, TN. He was a motivated member of the Lion’s Club, Exchange Club, Boy Scouts of America, TVOS & TFWA Organizations and was a Governor Appointed member of the TN Viticultural Advisory Board.

Carl joined his beloved wife, Jo Wilbur, in marriage on December 23, 1992. Together their families became one and shared in many years of a love and happiness. Carl loved the Lord and was of the Methodist faith.

He will be tremendously missed and never forgotten by his devoted wife of 29 years, Jo Wilbur; daughter, Heather Donato and husband Rad of Memphis, TN; stepdaughter, Amy Bunton and husband Michael of Franklin, TN; stepson, Bart W. Horton and wife Neka of Jackson, TN; 7 Grandchildren, Houston and Caroline Donato, Lila and Ford Bunton, Will and Miles Horton and Isaiah Allen and a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Allen. A sister, Judith E. Coker of Turberville, SC as well as many other family, friends and neighbors who will mourn his passing.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Grace Bible Fellowship. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Andrew’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Bro. Bill Williamson will officiate, and interment will follow in the Andrew’s Chapel Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Vietnam Veterans of America Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Andrew’s Chapel Cemetery Fund or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
