Carl-Cox-1432644203Carl B. “Pete” Cox, Jr., 75 of Arab died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at his residence.

Mr. Cox was born January 30, 1940 in Marshall County, the son of Carl B. Sr. and Ella Fair Green Cox. He was a graduate of Arab High School, Class of 1958 and served in the Alabama National Guards.

He and the former Betty Jane Clemons were married 52 years. He was a lifetime resident of Arab and had retired from Meadow Gold as a milk delivery man; he was also a bus driver for Arab City Schools and a member of New Covenant Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Jane Cox; two sons: and daughters-in-law: Roger and Susan Cox and Rodney and Janice Cox; an honorary son and spouse: Kaj and Tammy Phipps; a daughter and son-in-law: Theresia and Jerry Willis; six grandchildren: Nick Bartlett and his fiancée, Sammii Twilley, Joshua Cox, Caitlyn Cox, Jaren Cox, Reagan Cox and Laci Willis; honorary grandchildren: Nathan and Natalie Phipps; preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Allison Cox.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Brother Jeremy Patterson, Roger Cox and Rodney Cox, officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.

Pallbearers will be Mike D’Angelo, Billy Griffin, Charlie Griffin, Johnny Holloway, Kevin LaRue, Don Moore, Mark Morrow and Rick Thrower; honorary pallbearers will be Junior Breedwell, Johnny Green, Johnny Hallman, Dennis Suits and Garlon Waldrop.

The family will accept flowers or in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of “Pete” may be made to the Arab High School Band or to the New Covenant Baptist Church’s Building Fund.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel
