LIMESTONE COUNTY – The Limestone County Economic Development Association is excited to announce our upcoming Hiring Event aimed at connecting job seekers with area employers. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives located at 114 W. Pryor St. Athens, AL 35611.

This event, in partnership with Athens State University, Limestone County Department of Human Resources A-RESET, Athens Career Center, AIDT, and Career Connect, will bring together approximately 20 local companies with open positions. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, learn about available job openings, and participate in on-site interviews.

A wide range of Limestone County and North Alabama organizations are participating, including the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), Athens State University, Athens-Limestone Hospital, Aviagen, Carpenter Technologies, Cast Products, CB&S Bank, Cintas, Claborn Manufacturing, Custom Assembly, Inc. / MCK Trucking, Inc., EFI Automotive – Electricfil Corporation, Grayson Carter & Son Contracting, Inc., Huntsville City Schools, Limestone County Schools, Matthews Industries, Inc., North Central Alabama Regional Council of Governments (NARCOG), Scout Pest Control, Inc., The Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama, Inc., Window World of Huntsville, and Y-tec Keylex Toyotetsu Alabama (YKTA).

A highlight of this event is the hiring platform, Career Connect. This platform has successfully connected thousands of job seekers with employment opportunities in another region of the state and it aims to connect people seeking employment with their next career opportunity.

Job seekers planning to attend the event are encouraged (not required) to pre-register on the Career Connect platform at www.northalabamajobs.com/ATHENS.

The process is simple. Complete your digital resume, apply for open positions, and receive 24/7 support. If you do not pre-register, you will register upon arrival. All attendees will have their digital resumes printed at the event and can receive communications from employers after the event through the platform. Anyone who’s looking for a job in North Alabama can sign up, whether they attend the event or not.

“One of our top priorities is strengthening the local workforce by helping more people enter or re-enter the labor market,” said Limestone County Economic Development Association President and CEO Bethany Shockney. “This hiring event gives us a real opportunity to increase labor force participation and match job seekers with employers who are ready to hire.”

Employers can easily register on the Career Connect platform, post active positions at no cost, and access job seekers’ digital resumes through a secure employer dashboard. To register your company for the Career Connect platform, visit www.northalabamajobs.com/job-connect/employer-login.
