On January 18, 1999, Cardai Juwan Parker unexpectedly made his way into the world, shocking his mother, Ngozi Arlena Egbujo and father, Carlos Demond Parker. You see, during Ngozi’s pregnancy, she only knew about one child, Cardaius Jordan Parker. So just imagine the shouts in the delivery room with more urges and directions to push; “push what exactly?”, thought Ngozi. And then there were two, a set of beautiful, strong, and handsome twin boys, that we know as Jordan & Juwan.
Despite pre-mature birth complications with weight, and having an extended NICU stay for months, the twins soared, excelled, and beat all clinical odds against them. Although Jordan was born first, Juwan enjoyed taking the lead and title as “the big brother”. Not just because of his natural physique, but also because of his strong will to provide, nurture, lead and protect those all around him. Juwan was always willing to take the initiative to dive in and take charge eagerly. During his youth, Juwan played many sports, such as baseball, football, soccer, and basketball, alongside his right-hand man, Jordan. Their father, Carlos, was always by their side being an active sports coach to his sons and to the community. Carlos has always been a great father showing unwavering support from day one. Ngozi was up front and center, like the momma bear she is, with all her love, support, and tools for nurturing if her babies got hurt. Ngozi has always been a dedicated and devoted mother from day one as well. After adding top performer athlete to their track record, Jordan & Juwan shortly placed big brother to their names, after Ngozi welcomed their sister, Mi ’Ari Ayanna Moore in 2005.
Juwan faced his greatest battle with Hodgkin Lymphoma in his junior year of high school. Through the support of family, treatments, doctors, and prayer, Juwan triumphantly overcame his cancer within his senior year. Juwan graduated from James Clemons High School in May of 2018, with Jordan right by his side. They both went on to complete studies under the AMT Program at Calhoun Community College. After receiving their associate degree in advanced manufacturing engineering, Juwan went on to become a Maintenance Technician in Facilities at Mazda Toyota. In his role, Juwan learned fast, and his work ethic helped him soar to reap the fruits of his hard-earned labor.
At an early age, Juwan was introduced to the bible which helped grow his love for Jehovah God. In turn, that lead to him attending Christian meetings and participating in the Disciple making work. Juwan’s love for Jehovah God motivated him to get baptized at the age of 21. He also enjoyed spending time and associating with the friends from the Kingdom Hall. Juwan also joined the Theocratic Ministry School, where he provided Bible Readings. His involvement with the Kingdom Hall and helping the congregation brought him great joy and spiritual nourishment.
Juwan without a doubt loved his family, sports, adventure, fashion, traveling, and being involved in his ministry work. At the age of 24, Juwan had overcome so many challenges, yet lived a rewarding life during his time here with family & friends. Juwan was loved, valued, appreciated, respected, and gave those same qualities in return to others. He will truly be missed from his untimely departure, from this world by his loved ones.
