Car Chase Through Decatur…..One Arrested

Jason Heath Robbins

DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department attempted a routine traffic stop and a man attempted to flee Officers.  Here is how the Decatur Police Department describe these events:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

On April 16, 2014, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit and Organized Crime Unit were patrolling in the area of East Acres subdivision. Officers attempted a traffic stop on a silver Honda Accord for multiple moving violations (Failure to Use Turn Signals, Speeding) in the 100 block of Ash Ct SE. 

After a short vehicle pursuit, the suspect resisted officers attempts to take him into custody. After a brief physical altercation, the suspect was taken into custody. The suspect was identified as Jason Heath Robbins. Robbins was placed under arrest for Attempting to Flee or Elude a Police Officer, Turn Signals Required, Driving While Revoked, Resisting Arrest, and Open Container. Robbins was then transported to the Decatur Morgan Hospital. Robbins was treated for minor injuries then released.

Robbins was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he was processed in. While being processed in, Robbins was found to be in possession of a quantity of Powder Cocaine and Marijuana. Robbins was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail and held in lieu of a $6,500.00 bond.

Robbins is currently on probation for Federal gun charges and numerous drug charges. The arresting officers will contact Robbins Federal Probation Officer to inform him/her of Robbins latest arrest in the hopes of having his probation revoked.”
