TROY-Caleb Moore, age 24, the son of Chief Justice Roy Moore was arrested on Sunday, March 15 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance along with a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana.
According to court records Moore was arrested Sunday after police responded to a complaint of a possible break-in. Officers say Caleb Moore and four men were near a white pick-up truck when, according to police reports one of the officers smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle. Marijuana and Xanax pills were found on top of a wallet containing a passport with Caleb Moore’s name.
Moore was taken to the Troy Jail where he posted bond for $7500 for the controlled substance charge and $1000 for the marijuana charge.
Roy Moore is Alabama’s chief justice and has been in the news himself of late for his stance in trying to block same-sex marriage in Alabama.
