C. Wayne Tucker, 77, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2019 surrounded by family and friends. He was born to Roy C. Tucker and Lucy Hazelwood Tucker on August 19, 1941 in Kelso, Tennessee. Wayne graduated from Moore County High School of Lynchburg, Tennessee in 1959 as salutatorian, and received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1965. He was employed at SCI Systems for more than 30 years retiring as Vice President and Plant Manager for Plant #4 in Lacey Springs, Alabama. He spent his retirement years as an active member of the Elks Lodge 1648 in Huntsville, Alabama and a member of the Farris Creek Masonic Lodge 509 in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
He is survived in death by his sister, Gerry (Joe) Fanning, his daughters, Christina (Randy) Kubik and Marla (Craig) Mitchell, his grandchildren Kristen Kubik, Jared Carter, Jack Mitchell and Tyler Mitchell, two nephews, and his companion Denise Plant-Covey.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lucy Tucker, his son David Wayne Tucker and his daughter Belinda Kay Tucker.
Wayne was an avid Tennessee Vols fan, he had a love of music and singing, all things Elvis, and traveling.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Berryhill Funeral Home with visitation 10am-12pm, a 12pm service, burial 2pm at Lynchburg Cemetery.
