Burline ‘Boe’ Riddle Maner – Obituary

Burline ‘Boe’ Riddle Maner, age 87, of Hartselle, departed this life, August 10, 2014, at Summerford Nursing Home, Falkville, Alabama. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 13, from 10:00 to 12:00  at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery with Randy Maner officiating.

She was born April 21, 1927 in Albany/Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama to William Burley Riddle and Enola Sandlin Riddle.

She was married to Ralph Wilson Maner for 53 years until his death in 1999. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.  She was known to her grandchildren as ‘Granny’. Boe was a wonderful cook and her Red Velvet Cake and Chicken and Dressing were among her family’s favorite dishes. She was a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for many years.  It was a career that she was well suited for and one that she loved.  Burline was a Christian, and loved to read and study the Bible.

She is survived by a son, Randy G. Maner, and wife Konnye, of Hartselle, and a daughter, Rhonda Maner Owens, and husband Jereld, of Hartselle. Grandchildren, Brad Maner, (Kim), John Maner, and Cynthia Maner Livingston, (Shane) all of Hartselle, and Scott Owens of Decatur. Great grandchildren, Austin Maner, Chase Maner, Hayden Maner, Will Livingston, Jessica Livingston, and Kate Livingston.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Burley Riddle and Enola Sandlin Riddle, a brother, JW Riddle, and sisters, Sarah Louise Riddle Bailey, and Billie Jean Riddle Hampton.

Pallbearers will be, Brad Maner, Scott Owens, John Maner, Austin Maner, Jonathan Hampton, and Shane Livingston.

The family would like to give special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ghandi, Nurses, and Staff of Summerford Nursing Home, West Haven Hall, for all the love, compassion, hospitality, and dedication that you gave to our mother, and our family.
