Burles Ray Jeffreys – Obituary

Funeral for Burles Ray Jeffreys, age 75, of Moulton was Sunday, October 12, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Coffey and Charles Canterbury officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial was in Moulton Memory Garden. Visitation began at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Jeffreys, who passed away Friday, October 10, 2014, at his residence was born February 24, 1939. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church and past member of Civitan and Lions Clubs of Moulton. He also assisted in organizing and coached little league ball, and played independent soft ball, all for a number of years. He enjoyed playing with the love of his life, his only granddaughter, Sally Kate Saint. Mr. Jeffreys was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam, a graduate of Hatton High School and John Calhoun Technical School.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Waldrop Jeffreys; daughter, Jennifer Fronk, Decatur; sisters, Sabra Stone, Shelby Simmons, both of Town Creek, Sharon Little, Elkmont; and granddaughter, Sally Kate Saint, Decatur.

Pallbearers were Mitch Rollins, Charles Garner, Dr. Eduardo Gonzalez, Justin Meadows, Tony Smith and Willard Blankenship.
