Burleigh Clyde JohnsonBurleigh Clyde Johnson, age 85, of Adamsville, passed away June 30, 2021. Burleigh was a talented, kind and loving man. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1958 and the United States Coast Guard from 1960-1964. Burleigh lived in Miami, Flordia during his time of service with the Coast Guard, he then returned to Alabama to work, and retire, as a machinist at US Steel. Burleigh then served in the Alabama Navy Reserves from 1984-1993. He was the lead singer of the Johnson Brothers Quartet. Burleigh also had a gift for writing as well as music. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Essie Mae Johnson; and his sisters Flora Ruth “Foff” Cruce and Bobbie Jean Banks. Burleigh is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dora Lee Johnson; children Deborah Leigh Swindle (Mike), Burleigh C. “Buck” Johnson, Jr. (Kym) and Paul Brian Johnson (Nikki); grandchildren, Cody Johnson (Taylor), Alexandria Brozek (Marshall), Makealey Johnson, Shane Johnson and Lora Turner (Jimmy); great-grandchildren, Sawyer Johnson, Maverick Brozek, Skye Turner and Nalaki Turner; siblings, Elnora “Nodie” Mortenson, William “Billy” Johnson, Carolyn Johnson (Be Whitfield), Ann Handley (Ottis), Steve Johnson (Dora Ann) and Randy Johnson (Pam) as well as 249 members of THE GREAT JOHNSON FAMILY. The family welcomes you to join them for a Celebration of Life to be held at Pleasant Grove Church of the Nazarene on July 10, 2021 at 2pm.
