Buddy Ray Brazelton, age 87, of Arab, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday, April 6, 2026. Born May 19, 1938, in Marshall County, Alabama, Buddy was the son of Russell Brazelton and Ollie Buchanan Brazelton. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Humphries Brazelton, who passed away in 2015. Buddy was of the Methodist faith and a member of Arab Wesleyan Church.
Buddy dedicated his life to hard work and service. He had a long and rewarding career in sales and marketing with Avnet Electronics, where his commitment and integrity were valued.
He treasured his family, especially his grandchildren, who have continued to bring him joy and pride. Buddy enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether working in the yard or tending to his garden. His love for nature was evident in the care he gave to his home and surroundings. He was fond of dining out, always appreciating a good meal and sharing it with family and friends.
Buddy was well-known for baking delicious pound cakes, which he generously gave to his family, neighbors and friends.
Buddy is survived by his son, Mark (Heather) Brazelton; daughter, Beth Kirkpatrick (Mike); grandchildren, Alie Kirkpatrick, Anna Kirkpatrick, Russell Brazelton (Hailey), Ben Brazelton (Sarah) and Evan Brazelton; great grandchildren, Foster Smith and Jackson Brazelton; brother, Jim Brazelton.
Services for Buddy are planned for Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Visitation will begin at 3:00pm with the funeral service following at 4:00pm. Reverand Nicky James will officiate. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery. Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel are assisting with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Arab Wesleyan Church.
