MADISON COUNTY-Madison County Sheriff Blake Dorning has released a statement regarding the arrest of one suspect on charges Sodomy and Deviant Sexual Intercourse with a Juvenile:
“Sheriff Blake Dorning announced today that Investigators with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office arrested Duane Kentrell Erwin 33 year old, of Huntsville, Alabama in reference to an incident that occurred with a juvenile.
Mr. Erwin faces charges of four counts of Sodomy 2nd Degree and two counts of School employee engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student under the age of 19 years.
Mr. Erwin has a bond of $30,000.00 for each count that he is charged with. Mr. Erwin was employed by the Madison County Board of Education and was teaching at Buckhorn Middle School at the time of the incident.
Investigators were notified of the incident by DHR in June of 2015 and after a thorough Investigation have developed Probable Cause for the arrest.
Mr. Erwin’s arrest was based upon Probable Cause and he should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
