
Bryon Shawn Nowlin, 55, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in Mantachie after a sudden illness. He was born February 1, 1971, in New Albany, MS, to Freddie Wayne and Barba Ann Cobb Nowlin, Sr. He was a graduate of W.P. Daniel High School in New Albany and a Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He worked at Cooper Tire for 25 years. He was a devout Christian and a member of Unity Baptist Church. He enjoyed going, with his wife, and watching his daughter Blayne play softball. He loved to cook, and especially enjoyed grilling and smoking meats. He was a good mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He was an avid Ole Miss fan, and he loved being around his family.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. James Young and Bro. Matt Pharr officiating. Bro. Butch Nowlin will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marietta Nowlin; four children, Bryon Nowlin (Ashley) of Hickory Flat, Chance Nowlin (Brittany) of Saltillo, Blayne Sturgeon of Mantachie, and Jordyn Turner (Brandon) of Pontotoc; one brother, Butch Nowlin (Patricia) of Boyle, MS; eight grandchildren, Hunter N., Dalton, Hunter, Henry, Weston, Will, Matthew, and Emma; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Betty Barrett of Batesville; several other extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Freddie Gray and Dorothy Wayne Nowlin; his maternal grandparents, Puddin and Tishy Cobb; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be Bryon Nowlin, Chance Nowlin, Tommy Dearing, Freddie Pinion, Adam Cornelius, and Tom Howell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jackson and Mike McGee.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
