Bryce William Tidmore, age 85, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, died, Friday, June 2, 2017. The visitation will be Monday, June 5th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Barrett Long and Rev. Roger Holley officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Close family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Julia Tidmore; and sister, Joyce Tidmore Torstrick.
Mr. Tidmore was a native of Arab, Alabama and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a graduate of UNA, Vanderbilt Teachers College and was an educator for thirty years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia where he served as a deacon since 1961.
He was a member of the Lions Club and American Legion Post 31 where he proudly served as chaplain and Color Guard member.
Mr. Tidmore enjoyed gardening and could grow anything,
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Bea Tidmore; son, Donald Glenn Tidmore; daughter, Susan Tidmore Holley (Roger); four grandchildren, Megan, Max, Mason, and Marshall, and seven great-grand children.
The family wishes to thank Kindred caregiver, Carla Horton, CCU nurse Courtney and the entire staff of the ECM and the CCU. Special thanks to Dr. Constantine Athanasuleos, Dr. Andre Taylor, Dr. Teresa Olson and former Dr. John P. Mims and garden partner Everett Greenhill.
