Mr. Bryan Oliver Scretching On the mild Fall day of October 20, 1976, Bryan Scretching made his entrance onto this planet. He was born to Oliver (BUTCH) and Gwendolyn Scretching. Rockland County, New York has never been the same since Bryan came on the scene. This tender bundle of joy who was born in Nyack, NY, and chiseled permanent smiles into the hearts of Bryan’s families in heaven and on earth was clearly godsent. His earliest years were spent spreading sunshine around the Village of Nyack, Spring Valley, and other hamlets of the Empire State. Little Bryan was an active participant in his Cradle Roll Sabbath School Class at the Berea 7th-day Adventist Church in Central Nyack. In 1979, Bryan’s family decided to abandon the chilly winds and snow of the Empire State and migrated to the balmy climes of Huntsville, Alabama.

Bryan completed his elementary and middle school studies in Madison County, Alabama before enrolling in Huntsville High School. There he not only excelled in academics, but was recognized throughout the area for his competitive skills in baseball. He also loved wrestling but his true joy was on the diamond. Whether swinging the bat, running the bases or handling his glove, Bryan was definitely a baller.  In June of 1993, he met his high school sweetheart and lifelong friend Jacqueline. This relationship produced three amazing children, Reginald, Bryana, and Desiree. Bryan graduated from HHS in 1996 and subsequently enrolled at Calhoun Community College where he studied Business Administration. Bryan also enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably until 2000.  In 2002 Bryan and Natalie were blessed with their beloved son Bryan and in 2003 their lovely daughter Aaliyah.

Bryan moved to Maryland in 2005 to continue pursuing his love for the aviation industry. In 2013 Bryan married the love of his life Angela. This precious union yielded one angelic daughter Kamille. Bryan worked in the travel industry for over 20 years.  He worked for US Airways, Midwest Airlines, and World Airlines. His duties ran the gamut from ramp agent to ramp manager to supervisor and      subsequently General Manager of World Wide Flight Services. On June 17, 2024, at Southern Maryland Medstar Hospital, after a courageous and heroic journey, Bryan lost his battle against Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Bryan is survived by his wife Angela; his six children Reginald, Bryana, Desiree, Bryan, Aaliyah, and Kamille; his five grandchildren Blake, Riley, Karter, Reid, and Zy’kir and his Aunt Carole, Uncle Russell and cousin Jennipher.
