Bruce Pope – Obituary

Brother Bruce Pope, 78, passed away Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, at ECM Hospital. He was a verteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1961-1963. His life is one defined by love and passion for preaching and winning souls for Christ. He preached and witnessed and won many people to the Lord from 1971-2017 pastoring several churches in the area. He was presently the pastor of Fairview Christian Church in Hackleburg, Alabama. When God called him home he left this ole world shouting and thanking God. Visitation was held August 24th at the Hackleburg First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held August 25th at the church with Tony Wood, Joe Spiller and James McCullar officiating, with burial at Cedar Tree Cemetery with military honors.

Survivors include wife of 57 years, Kathleen Davis Pope; son, Barry Pope; daughter, Debbie (Daryl) Stidham; grandchildren, Jason (Sam) Pope, Hope (Jace) Watkins, Whitney (Zach) Holmes, and Paige (Brandon) Ricketts; great-grandchilden, Braylynn and Hunter Pope, Kingston and Bankston Ricketts, Addyson Watkins, and one on the way, Coy Holmes; aunt, Drexel Tesney; and a host of cousins.

He was preceded in death by parents, Cazzie and Lorene Tesney Pope.
