Bruce B. James, 72, Russellville, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. James was a member and deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of Lawrence County Tractor Club. He worked for years at Elmores, TG&Y, Walmart, GMP Metals, and GoldKist. He was kind and thoughtful to all and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

The visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Bro. Roger Jones. Burial will be at Duncan Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Bernece Fuller James; children, Cindy Wade (husband, Glenn), Terry James (wife, Denise); grandchildren, Kimberly James, Nola Wells, April Wells; step-grandchildren, Kelly Turpin, Kathryn Roberts; step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Roberts, Nick South, Tory Turpin, Lanny Turpin; brothers, Hazel James (wife, Doris), Lowell James (wife, Darcy); and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Wiley & Oma James and sister, Joree Murray.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Alacare Hospice and the doctors and nurses of North Alabama Cancer Center.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
