Bruce Adams Wilson – Obituary

BruceBruce Adams Wilson, born Feb. 2, 1929, died Feb. 11, 2014. He was a native of Grand Rapids, Mich. and grew up in St. Petersburg, Fla. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Bruce attended Imperial University in Tokyo, Japan and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in accounting. Mr. Wilson was a member of First Christian Church in Florence, Ala. Bruce was on the board of NACOLG and was active in several veteran, civic, and fraternal organizations.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with the funeral to follow at 3 p.m. The color guard of American Legion Post 31 of Tuscumbia will conduct full military rites. The Rev. Jim Storie, pastor at First Christian Church, Florence, will conduct the service.

Bruce leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Joann Harris Fraser Wilson; and stepson, Eric Harris Fraser.

Pallbearers will be Ed Alsbrook, Jesse Joiner III, James McCorkle, James Bragwell, Richard Sheridan, and Judge Daniel Rosser. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Dodd and Bobby Milstead.

Much appreciation to Sherry Monson who has been a great help to Bruce, Joann, and Eric. In lieu of flowers, send memorials to First Christian Church, 700 N. Wood Ave., Florence, AL 35630.

Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
