Brownie Mai Armstrong

Brownie Mai Armstrong, age 83, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Life Care Center.

 

Her body will lie in state on Monday, September 16, 2019 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM with a visitation from 3:00 – 4:30 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held immediately following the visitation at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on September 13, 1935 in Columbia, Brownie was the daughter of the late Ed Armstrong and the late Mary Armstrong Mayes. She was a hard worker who worked many years in housekeeping for Hillview Nursing Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Brownie had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed fishing with her lifelong companion, Billy Williams.

 

She is survived by her lifelong companion, Billy Williams of Columbia; sister in law, Mattie Armstrong of Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: J.C., Gene, Marvin, Willie, James, and Frank Armstrong; and sisters: Leola Braden, Dorothy Armstrong, Frances Mitchell, and Geraldine Thompson.
