She graduated from Central High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Spanish and English and a Masters of Education from the University of North Alabama. She also received a Library Media endorsement from the University of Alabama. Bridgett was an inspirational teacher and librarian for more than 20 years. There wasn’t a teacher or student whose life wasn’t impacted in a positive way as a result of her ability to love, nurture, and go above and beyond the call of her profession. She was a loving daughter and a devoted wife and mother. Bridgett was married to Mike West on July 29, 1996; they were married for 19 wonderful years. Together they raised two beautiful girls, Janie Beth and Emily Anne, who were the light of their lives. She valued her time with family above anything else on this earth. She was also lovingly known as our “GeGe”. Bridgett blessed many with her amazing faith, her strength and her unwavering testimony. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church and enjoyed worshipping and singing in the choir as well as the fellowship she had with her church family. The Lord blessed Bridgett with a voice that touched the hearts of all who heard. Bridgett embodied 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Bridgett was preceded in death by her grandparents Wayley and Minnie Morris; Elmer and Izora Patterson. Father-in-law Kenneth Green. Along with her husband Mike and daughters Janie Beth and Emily Anne, Bridgett was survived by her parents, Eugene and Janie Patterson Morris.
