It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Brian Douglas Wheat, 49, of Madison, AL. Brian departed this world on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Brian’s greatest joy and gift was being a father. He did everything for his boys, including teaching them the love of the outdoors. Brian’s passion for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors defined his being. He was an extremely skilled carpenter and well respected throughout Madison County for his craftsmanship and kindness. Everyone who knew Brian said he was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone.

Brian is survived by his wife, Sara Wheat; his children, Joseph (Auburn, AL) and Charlie (Fort Walton, FL); his niece; Hannah Wheat; brother, Mark Wheat; mom, Kathy Wheat; and grandmother, Rena Brown. Brian was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wheat and his niece, Madison Wheat.

Visitation will be held at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 11716 County Line Rd., Madison, AL 35756, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 1-2pm, with a short devotion at 2pm. Per Brian’s wishes, services will be casual attire. Brian will always be remembered for the love and devotion he gave to his children.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to one of the hunting or fishing charities
