Brian Charles Vickers With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brian Charles Vickers of Florence, who departed from this world on April 7th, 2024. He was 60 years old.

A native of Dresden Ohio, and longtime resident of the Shoals, Brian brought warmth, kindness, and love into the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a beloved husband, a devoted father, a cherished friend, and a pillar of strength and stability to those around him. Brian lived a life marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, passions, and principles.

An artisan at heart, there was never a time when Brian wasn’t juggling multiple projects at once, but with his superior organization skills, he never missed a deadline. From carpentry to stained glass to chocolatiering, Brian had creative charisma that he used to the benefit of friends and family. Equipped with a pencil and grid lined paper, there wasn’t a project that Brian could not tackle. Coupled with unmatched determination and natural skill, Brian brought his sketches to life: bathrooms, porches, fences, cabinetry, etc.

Highly intelligent, Brian was always there to turn to when seeking advice or needing a wise consultant. Well read and a seeker of knowledge, Brian was a loyal visitor to the Muscle Shoals library. Brian had an adventurous spirit and a love for travel that stemmed from his time spent in Australia under the high school foreign exchange student program. What Brian looked forward to most was the annual family beach trip and visiting family in Ohio and California. Brian had planned to travel to Jamaica and Singapore later this year.

For his family he was a protector and a constant stronghold in all our lives. Brian
encouraged and inspired his family everyday with his strength and wisdom. He was always willing to sacrifice his own time, comfort, and resources to ensure his family’s happiness and well being. Brian left a positive impact on everyone that he knew. Our family will strive to carry on his traditions and implement his lessons everyday. He will forever be missed and he will forever be loved.

He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty-five years, Julie Vickers; children, Brandon Vickers (Crystal), Chelsea Vickers, Nicholas Vickers, and Bridgette Vickers; mother, Shirley Vickers; and siblings, Doug Vickers (Pam), Dean VIckers (Scott), and Renee Martin (Mike) who will forever cherish his memory and the profound impact he made on their lives. Though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who were touched by his selflessness and compassion.

In his honor, let us remember the joy Brian brought into our lives, the laughter we
shared, and the love he bestowed upon us. May he rest in peace, knowing that we are so proud of him and everything he accomplished while he was here with us.

In loving memory
The Vickers Family
