Brett Leon Smith, age 58 of Haleyville, passed away October 16, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 20, 1968 to Gerald and Jewel Smith. Brett was a family man, a cherished husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything to do with the outdoors. Brett will be missed by many. Visitation will be Friday October 23, 2026, at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville from noon to 2:00 p.m. where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be Whitehouse Cemetery. Brett is survived by his wife, Donna Smith; brother, Mitchell Smith; sister, Kim (John) Bowman; children, Cherie (Dustin) Kelley, Kimberly Liverett, Joshua (Emma) Johnson. Bretta (Kayla) Adams, and Dakota (Emma) Smith; grandchildren, James, Zoie, Zander, IzaBella, Scarlett, Perry, Noah, Jayda, Emmett, Madeleine, Drake, Easton, Enzlee and Walker; and a host of family and friends.
