Bret Searcy Burton, 35, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the North Ms. Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. He was born July 10, 1982 in Tupelo, MS. Bret was superintendent of Burton Builders, an equipment operator and a member of Liberty Church of Christ. In honor of Bret’s memory, his family chose to give the gift of organ donation.
Services will be Friday, December 29, 2 p.m. at Liberty Church of Christ, Dennis, MS with David Conley and Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Belmont Memory Gardens, Belmont, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two children – Lawson Burton and Kaki Burton; special friend – Sarah Kaluzny and her daughter, Sophie; his mother – Donita Trotter (Mike); his father– Tim Burton (Greta); two brothers – Ghannon Burton (Carol) and Tyler Burton (Brittany); one sister – Marisa Burton Cass (Blake) and five nephews – Kade Burton (Rachel), Garrett Burton, Tryce Burton, Cash Burton and Beckham Cass and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Mittie Searcy, Charms Burton and Joe and Betty Pattison.
Pallbearers will be Lawson Burton, Kade Burton, Garrett Burton, Anthony Searcy, Blake Cass, James Guthrey, Donnie Wood, Brandon Pharr, Lee Ratliff, Nathan Bostick, Ryan Bostick, Jimmy Pharr, Josh Dooley and Chris Dill. Honorary pallbearers will be Tryce Burton, Cash Burton, Beckham Cass, employees of Thompson Caterpillar and former and present employees of Burton Builders.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 6-9 p.m. at Liberty Church of Christ, Dennis, MS.
