Brenda Kobeck Godsey

Brenda Kobeck Godsey, 82, was called home by God on August 2, 2025 after a fifteen-year battle with Alzheimer’s.

Brenda was born to William H. and Ethel (Hendrix) Kobeck in Leoma, Tennessee. Brenda graduated from Sheffield High School and lived most of her life in Florence, Alabama. She was married to Kenneth Godsey for fifty-six years before his death in 2022. Brenda and Ken owned Ken Godsey Tire Center until 1987. The following year, they opened Cottage Pineworks, a family-run manufacturer of antique furniture. Brenda owned Plum Tree Antiques in Center Star. Brenda was a member of Helton Drive Church of Christ. She loved antiques, genealogy, history, and her flower garden. Brenda was an avid reader, and a talented artist.

Brenda is survived by daughters, Selina Riley and Felicia Plunket (Chris); grandchildren, Jared James, Reed Robertson, Bailey Harrison (Lee), and Jessa Humphries (Seth); and great-grandchildren, Gracie James, Channing Robertson, and Calvin Harrison.

She is preceded in death by husband Ken Godsey; parents William and Ethel Kobeck; and sister, Jo Karen Kobeck Williams.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the funeral at 5:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jared James, Reed Robertson, Lee Harrison, and Seth Humphries.

Honorary pallbearer will be Calvin Harrison.

Brenda was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, an example of strength and dignity to the very end.
